Amy is always in the process of adding more edibles to the landscape.  In addition to the existing apple trees, there are pears, blueberries, raspberries, grapes, mint, kiwi, peaches, plums, herbs, tomatoes, leeks, and herbs.  The humans, pollinators, and plantings are in a constant dance.

There are fountains worked into the garden.  This year, aside from humans, we've been visited by frogs, multiple species of bee, hummingbirds, birds, skunks, chipmunk, mice,, fisher cat, the neighborhood cats, geese, and ducks, dragonflies, and many more. The sound of water is soothing and necessary for biodiversity in the garden.

At the moment, with safety in mind, we use battery operated lights, solar lights, dusk to dawn exterior LEDs, and firelight. Our light fixtures can be an artistic expression unto themselves.

  We use recycled or composting collection bags. We use cloth napkins and dishcloths, add slipcovers instead of purchasing new furniture, alter or make our own curtains, repurpose objects such as windows into mirrors, sideboards into kitchen cabinetry, and utilize chicken manure, and compost on-site. The act of repairing, renovating, reusing and repurposing is in keeping with permaculture.
